For earlier reporting about the state of affairs in Kenya under Ruto, see my article series about the #RutoMustGo and anti-femicide protests: Part 1; Part 2; Part 3; Part 4; Part 5; Part 6.
1. Kenyan People’s Grievances with the Ruto Regime
In 2024, it started with protests against that year’s cleptocratic finance bill which prompted mass murders, abductions and disappearances of protesting Kenyans by the Ruto regime:
From one week ago when police headshotted from behind a mask street vendor:
The mass-murderer Ruto is massively hated, especially by the younger generations:
2. Ruto Regime Measures Against the Protest
Goon mobilization (Dennis Itumbi is understood to be Ruto’s right hand man who orchestrates various dirty deeds):
Later that day:
The morning after:
Razor wire:
Road closures:
Internet connection reductions like in 2024 — Safaricom is most likely in on it:
Broadcasting blockades:
NTV and other stations were forcibly and illegally shut down:
KTN keeps livestreaming:
The High Court later suspended the illegal CAK directive:
3. Ruto Regime Violent Repression and Brutality
The above was built because of the following:
Do police pick up a bullet casing which they fired on protesters here?:
Protesters react to police teargas and violence:
The sadistic and dumb cops — it turns out they are actually prison guards let loose on the streets[!] — then shot another tear gas cannister at the protesters while the well-known CNN correspondent was there and while the cameras were rolling:
Larry Madowo: “No! What are you doing?! Why would you do that?! And he’s laughing. He just threw teargas in a crowded alley and then laughed at it. […] It’s crazy. This is a really violent, unr… Look at this! Look at this, look at this. They’re trying to beat her up. They are threatening her. These are prisons officers, who are not trained in crowd control. And they’re being unreasonably violent. Here we see them again.
Larry Madowo: “Look at this! Look at this, look at this. They’re trying to beat her up. They are threatening her. These are prisons officers, who are not trained in crowd control. And they’re being unreasonably violent. Here we see them again.” *points*
Larry Madowo: “He’s whipping the protesters right now. Even the security guards are getting rounded up. What is going on? Why are you guys being held?”
Young woman in back to the right [feebly]: “We’re protesting…”
Young man in white t-shirt: “We’re just protesting peacefully.”
Young man in black cap: Larry, […] we’re demonstrating peacefully. We’re protesting against police brutality. […] As you can see we have nothing. I only have my phone. We all have only our phones. We’re peaceful, our hands are up. But we have been cornered and we’re afraid for our lives.
Larry Madowo: “I don’t understand: Why are they keeping the uniformed guards here? The uniformed guards. Why is he throwing this in our direction? Okay, okay, now we have to get out of here. You guys need to leave with me.”
Another less lucky security guard was killed by an out of control Ruto goon:
Yet another reason why #RutoMustGo and why Kenyans should be in solidarity with Palestinians and opposed to Ziofascist Israel:
Automatic rifle fire in Rongai by a group of some sort of Ruto goons or (in)security forces:
The bullet casings appear to have been labeled “KOF,” standing for Kenya Ordinance Factory:
Thus bullet proof vests for professional journalists:
A woman appears to have been shot in the chest and killed at a Naivas supermarket in Nairobi:
A shot and killed male victim of the Ruto regime was identified as Victor Otieno Odhiambo:
Beware of defeatism and possible Ruto regime propaganda such as the following though (fearmongering and a go home message):
A crazy coincidence:
More reasons why Ruto regime (in)security forces are hated by Kenyans. Plain clothes cops beating up protesters with clubs:
The irony of helping a female cop beset upon by goons:
Preliminary summaries of Ruto regime violence from that day (note how killed Kenyans are conspicuously missing in the AFP numbers):
The regime murder count went up to 11:
4. The June 25, 2025 Protests
4.1 Morning protests
Protester: “Justice!”
Protesters chanting: “We are peaceful! We are peaceful!”
Some prominent protest participants:
Ruto in the meantime is in Kilifi at Kenya’s East coast, listening to updates and giving orders:
4.2 Thika Road Protests
Thika Road protests show how massive and unstoppable the protest is:
KTN on scene reporting also confirmed that the police were failing to hold back protesters coming in to Nairobi CBD (Central Business District) — and a few minutes before KTN’s livefeed was briefly interrupted:
A symbolic burning clock — is Ruto’s time up?
4.3 Afternoon Protests: #OccupyStateHouse — #SiriNiNumbers
#SiriNiNumbers / “the secret is numbers”: Police start to beat up the lone man in orange who raises his hands — and flee 10 seconds later as a big crowd comes around the corner:
As is so often the case, Twitter/X deliberately offers false autocompletes and suppresses the actual hashtag:
With numbers is how a main goal of the protesters of #OccupyStateHouse or #OccupyStatehouse2025 — the Kenyan President’s residence — is being implemented:
There is a historical precedent from the same day:
Goons hired by the Ruto regime are not making much of a difference:
Millions of Kenyans are marching for justice and to end the Ruto regime:
Opposition leader Raila Odinga jumps on the band wagon:
Closing in on State House:
Muslim police doing their afternoon prayers:
Reinforcements announced and piling in through Thika Road:
Ruto regime goons appear to be killing Kenyans in Thika Road, many shots fired:
No going home #OccupyUntilVictory:
A roadmap:
Earlier at Kiambu Road:
State House Surrounded
Ruto reportedly was at State House for a short time:
Reports of NIS infiltration of protesters which led to failure to occupy State House:
4.4 Outside of Nairobi
Mombasa:
Lamu:
Embu:
Narok:
Molo:
So overall:
5. The Night, Including Reports of Organized Rapes by Ruto Goons
Note that I fully expect overnight massacres and other crimes by the Ruto regime and its hired goons, also since many people are still stranded outside due to road blockages:
The expected night shootings occured, for instance in Rongai where shootings already happened during the day (see section 2):
Resistance and protests continue too in some places:
Sinister things were rumoured to occur in Karura Forest:
It would not be a surprise if something happened in Karura Forest since the Ruto regime (in)security forces tortured Albert Ojwang there:
And then there were credible reports of rapes, with victims reportedly dumped in Karura Forest:
A “@grantgk454” and once again Dennis Itumbi, Ruto’s right hand man and “HEAD of Presidential Special [Crime] Projects”, are fingered for organizing the reported rapes:
The same individual already publicly admitted his intention to participate in organized rape on February 13, 2025 by providing his phone number:
Through his phone number, the rapist’s name was found out about and circulated widely on social media:
People have forwarded that information to Kenyan police, expecting an arrest:
Confirmation of the match of name and phone number:
It is also in this context that the churches — many of which take money from corrupt politicians — are not particularly popular:
