Pope Francis: “I continue to receive from Gaza very serious and painful news. Unarmed civilians are the target of bombings and gunfire. This has even happened within the compound of the Holy Family parish where there are no terrorists, only families, children, people who are sick and have disabilities, and nuns. A mother and her daughter, Mrs. Nahida Khalil Anton and her daugher Samar Kamal Anton, were killed, and others were injured by snipers as they walked to the bathroom. The house of the Sisters of Mother Teresa was damaged, and their generator was hit. Some say ‘This is terrorism. This is war.’ Yes, it is war,it is terrorism. That is why scripture affirms that ‘God stops wars, breaks the bows, splinters the spear.’ Let us pray to the Lord for peace.”
Mark Regev: “deliberate killing of civilians. That’s something we don’t do [i.e. they do it every day]. We don’t shoot people who are going to church to pray, this doesn’t happen. Ah, that’s not the way the IDF operates, that’s against our rules of engagement. We don’t know exactly what happened, we urge people not to jump to conclusions. There have been in the past all sorts of stories put out by ‘Khamas’ and their supporters accusing Israel of all sorts of terrible deeds, and in the end they’ve proved to be wrong [i.e. right].”
The Ziofascists once again rolled out their propagandist Mark Regev to lie about the name-inscribed shells:
Mohammed Dawood: “We were out in the cold […]. They abused us, spat on us, and disrespected us. They did not respect the elderly or those injured. […] We came from Betlahia in the north and were moving to the south through the safe corridor. They captured us from there. They interrogated us: Are you Hamas? Are you Islamic Jihad? But they couldn’t find anything against us.”
Narrator: “The men say they were released at a crossing in Rafah with no phones or clothes of their own.”
“More and more temporary structures are being erected, tents are used as wards and temporary clinics. Every spare building is being filled with beds for patients. More hospital beds are desperately needed,” says Hook.
Treating the war-wounded is complicated as blasts from explosive weapons and collapsing buildings create multiple, simultaneous injuries on many parts of the body. In Gaza, Israel’s complete siege makes it impossible to access essential drugs, including pain management drugs, which are critical in surgical interventions, and the medical tools needed to repair shattered and burned bodies.
“The lucky few that survive have life-changing injuries. Many injured people suffer from extreme burns, major fractures that won’t heal properly and may go on to require amputations,” says Hook.
“Many of these patients, even if they can get back to something resembling normal life, will have severe chronic pain that will require substantial pain management as well.
“It would be a huge burden even on the most functional healthcare system, let alone for a system under intense pressure, like in Gaza.”
Channel 4 host: “You heard our Member of Parliament Leyla Moran there, her relatives, six of them, targetted by Israeli army snipers in a church compound in Gaza. What on earth is going on?”
Yuli Edelstein: “Well, that’s the question to Leyla, not to me. I think that, ah, I can only say that we as the Jewish people are used to blood libels. So to hear that Israeli snipers are targetting women on purpose and not letting them leave the church, ah, is something that reminds me usually the atmosphere in the Middle Ages before another holiday…
Channel 4 host [interrupting]: “Are you saying it’s a lie, are you saying it didn’t happen?”
Yuli Edelstein: “This is a flat lie, absolutely. No Israeli sniper ever purposefully targetted any civilian, to say nothing about women.”
“Due to the war, many mosques and churches were destroyed in Gaza, in Palestine. We wanted to tell the whole world that we do not celebrate Christmas because of this war, because there are so many dead, many wounded, and many people without life, without a home, without a job. […] We wanted to send this message as a message to the whole world, that there is a people who wants to live, who wants to make peace and wants the justice of having their own state.”
“Bulldozers have destroyed the Sheikh Shaaban in the Al-Saha neighbourhood of eastern Gaza. Images from the cemetery show recently buried bodies lying among the rubble of tombstones.”
The children displaced to south Gaza were craving chicken, but all their mother had left to feed the family for the day was a tin of peas donated by a man who took pity on her when he saw her crying.
Left homeless by Israel’s military offensive against Hamas, like most of Gaza’s 2.3 million population, Tahany Nasr was in a tent camp in Rafah focused on one thing only: how to find enough food and water to get everyone through another day.
She said her children had lost weight and were getting dizzy spells because they were not eating enough.
“I’ve been begging to feed my children and don’t find anything. I go to Social Affairs, they say go to the mosque. I go to the mosque, they say go to the Affairs,” she said, referring to Gaza’s welfare ministry which normally organises distributions of basic goods like flour to people in hardship.
Hunger has become the most pressing of the myriad problems facing hundreds of thousands of displaced Gaza Palestinians, with aid trucks able to bring in only a small fraction of what is needed, and distribution uneven due to the chaos of war.
Some trucks have been stopped and looted by people desperate for food, while swathes of the devastated territory are beyond their reach because access roads are active battlegrounds.
Even in Rafah, which has a crossing to Egypt through which aid trucks enter and is an area where the Israeli army has told civilians to seek refuge, the dearth of food and clean water is so severe it is causing people to lose weight and get ill.
“We have started to see people coming in emaciated,” said Samia Abu Salah, a primary care doctor in Rafah.
She said weight loss and anaemia were common and people were so weak and dehydrated they were more susceptible to chest infections and skin conditions. Babies and children were particularly at risk, and their growth would be affected.
More than 90 Palestinians, including dozens from an extended family, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on two homes in Gaza, rescuers and hospital officials said Saturday, a day after the U.N. chief warned that nowhere is safe in the territory and that Israel’s offensive creates “massive obstacles” to distribution of humanitarian aid.
U.S. President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday, calling it a long and private conversation a day after the Biden administration again shielded Israel in the diplomatic arena. On Friday, the U.N. Security Council adopted a watered-down resolution that calls for immediately speeding up aid deliveries to desperate civilians in Gaza, but not for a cease-fire.
“I did not ask for a cease-fire,” Biden said of the call. Netanyahu’s office said the prime minister “made clear that Israel would continue the war until achieving all its goals.”
[…]
Airstrikes on Friday [by who?!] flattened two homes, including one in Gaza City, where 76 people from the al-Mughrabi family were killed, making the attack one of the deadliest of the war, said Mahmoud Bassal, a spokesman for Gaza’s Civil Defense department.
Among those killed were Issam al-Mughrabi, a veteran employee of the U.N. Development Program, his wife, and their five children.
“The U.N. and civilians in Gaza are not a target,” said Achim Steiner, the head of the agency. “This war must end.”
And a strike pulverized the home of Mohammed Khalifa, a local TV journalist, killing him and at least 14 others in the urban refugee camp of Nuseirat, according to officials at the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital where the bodies were taken.
The account of @Ines_haj27 has also disappeared, so it looks as if the Ziofascists implemented a concerted Christmas censorship and cancellation effort while people were distracted. But Mohammed El-Kurd at least was back in less than 24 hours:
A Ziofascist Israeli military vehicle symbolically rolls over the naked bodies of Palestinian civilians, thus giving away the general genocidal theme of it all:
“Dear Santa Clause, all what Palestinian children are asking for is to hear the sounds of fireworks rather than airstrikes. All what Palestinian fathers want for Christmas is to hold bags full of gifts rather than holdings bags full of dead pieces of their children. […]”
