Dr. Tanya Haj-Hassan: “You cannot unsee what you witness there. It is so horrific, so egregious. And we know that it’s being funded by American bombs, and it’s being enabled by American bombs, and in direct contrast to demonstrated realities on the ground, documented realities on the ground, universal condemnation from international human rights and humanitarian organizations, and findings by the ICJ of plausible genocide.
And so, I would have liked to get up on stage and say, look, for the last 10 months, we have witnessed massacre after massacre — massacres of schools where internally displaced people were sheltering, massacres outside of hospitals, massacres of — a flour massacre, water distribution site massacres, humanitarian distribution site massacres. And we have witnessed as our healthcare worker colleagues have been detained, tortured, killed. We have witnessed, as healthcare workers, healthcare workers, journalists and humanitarian workers have been killed at an unprecedented and in record-breaking numbers.
And we feel very much — particularly when we know that international journalists are not let inside of Gaza for the last 10 months, we feel like our witness becomes particularly important. You know, I work for an organization called Médecins Sans Frontières, Doctors Without Borders. And one of our core principles is témoignage, the concept of bearing witness. And that was an organization founded by journalists and doctors, with the understanding that when atrocities are committed anywhere in the world, it’s very important that we bear witness to those atrocities. And that’s particularly important as a physician, when you’re trained not only to treat disease, but to prevent disease and illness. And there’s a very easy way, well within the grasp of the American government, to prevent this disease. But instead, we are enabling it. […]”

A nurse in Gaza has told the BBC his wife and six children — including a group of quadruplets — were killed in an attack in the central Gaza strip.
“My entire family has been wiped out in an instant”, says Ashraf El Attar, “leaving me with nothing”.
The nurse — who works at Gaza’s European hospital — says his family home in Deir-al-Balah was hit in the early hours of Sunday morning. He survived with minor injuries.
Israel has not spoken about this specific attack, but has said its forces were operating in the city. It says it only targets members of armed groups.
Killed in the strike were Mr El Attar’s wife — Hala Khattab, a teacher — and their six children — a 15-year-old boy, a one-year-old girl, and their four 10-year-old quadruplets.
Speaking to BBC Arabic’s Gaza Today podcast, the nurse says that around 6am on the morning of the attack he was getting ready for work when he “heard the alarm sound and suddenly lost consciousness”.
When he came to, Mr El Attar says he was in “severe pain” and the house “was in ruins”.
All the outer walls of their apartment building were destroyed.
“I desperately called out for my children and my wife, but it was too late.
“My six children, including four twins, and my wife were killed instantly in the attack,” he says.
The strike took them by surprise, Mr El Attar says. The night before, the family had spent time “enjoying a soap opera together”, trying to “escape the harsh reality of war”.
Mr El Attar’s mother — and grandmother to his six children — says she “cannot comprehend” why their home was hit.
“My son Ashraf works as a nurse at the European hospital, where he is dedicated to helping patients.
“We had no connections with any organisations,” she says.

At 5:40 a.m. on Aug. 10, the IDF Spokesperson sent a message to reporters informing them of an Israeli airstrike on a “military headquarters located in Al-Taba’een school compound near a mosque in the Daraj [and] Tuffah area, which serves as a shelter for residents of Gaza City.”
“The headquarters,” the Spokesperson continued, “was used by terrorists of the Hamas terrorist organization for hiding, and from there they planned and promoted terrorist attacks against IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel. Prior to the attack, many steps were taken to reduce the chances of harming civilians, including the use of precision munitions, visual equipment, and intelligence information.”
Shortly after this announcement, shocking images from Al-Taba’een school circulated around the world, showing piles of dismembered flesh and body parts being removed in plastic bags. The images were accompanied by reports that around 100 Palestinians had been killed in the Israeli attack, with many more hospitalized. Most of those killed were in the middle of fajr, or dawn prayers, at a designated space inside the school compound.
[…]
The IDF announcement explicitly stated that the school “serves as a shelter for residents of Gaza City,” meaning that the IDF knew refugees had fled there in fear of the army’s own bombings. The statement did not claim that there was any gunfire or rocket attacks from the school, but that “Hamas terrorists … planned and promoted … terrorist acts” from it. Nor did it claim that the civilians who took refuge in the school were given any warning, only that the army had used “precision weapons” and “intelligence.” In other words, the army bombed a populated shelter knowing full well the deadly repercussions its assault would inflict.
As if starving millions was a hobby
It should come as no surprise that the Israeli media endorsed the IDF Spokesperson’s claims. When it comes to the resounding security failures that led to October 7, the Israeli media, and especially the right-wing media, is allowed to be critical and skeptical of the army. But when it comes to killing Palestinians, such skepticism is thrown out the window: in Gaza, the army is always right.
“In war, schools are off limits,” Prof. Yuli Tamir, Israel’s former education minister, wrote in Haaretz. “Isn’t there a single commander who will say, ‘No more?’” The answer is a resounding no. Every war entails a certain level of dehumanization of the enemy. But it seems that in the current war in Gaza, the dehumanization of Palestinians is close to absolute.

A degenerate Ziofascist propaganda reply:
Walid Khalili’s nightmare began on the morning of November 10, 2023. The 36-year-old father of three, a Palestinian Medical Relief Society paramedic and ambulance driver, had been dispatched to the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City to rescue four wounded men. When his ambulance reached the Barcelona Garden, twenty meters from the Labor Ministry building, on Mughrabi Street, he saw four men surrounded by Israeli forces.
“I saw the four men being executed in cold blood,” Khalili said. “I saw it with my own eyes, I was three meters away. When they were shot, I hid under the ambulance, and next to it there was a building, so then I ran inside the building. The Israeli forces raided the building and started yelling at me to raise my hands.” Soldiers kicked and beat him with their rifle butts, breaking his ribs.
Human Rights Watch could not independently verify Khalili’s account of the killings. But his subsequent ordeal — including deportation from Gaza to detention facilities in Israel, torture, and denial of medical care — are consistent with the abuses in Israeli detention described by seven other healthcare workers we interviewed. His account is also consistent with reports by other rights groups, the United Nations human rights office, and journalists.
The soldiers forced Khalili to strip naked in public, zip-tied his hands behind his back, blindfolded him, took him to another location. “They kept telling me, ‘Say you’re Hamas,’” he said. He recalled the bitter November cold. Soldiers then placed him in an open-back military vehicle, hit him, and drove him to an open area, where he was forced to lie face-down on sandy ground. Soldiers repeatedly shoved his face into the sand with their boots and threatened to kill him, Khalili said.
One soldier pushed the muzzle of an assault rifle to his head, another doused him with gasoline, threatening to set him on fire, and others drove a military vehicle quickly toward him as if to run him over — a tactic that another former detainee separately described to us — apparently to terrify him into confessing to being a member of Hamas.
Israeli soldiers then transferred Khalili to Sde Teiman military base in southern Israel, northwest of the city of Beer Sheva, about 30 kilometers from Gaza. He said that at the detention facility, Israeli soldiers dragged him on the ground, removed the cuffs on his ankles, dressed him in adult diapers, and removed his blindfold. He saw he was in a large building “like a warehouse,” with chains hanging from the ceiling. Dozens of detainees, also in diapers, were suspended from the ceiling, with the chains attached to their square metal handcuffs.
He said that personnel at the facility then suspended him from a chain, so his feet were not touching the ground, dressed him in a garment and a headband that were attached to wires, and shocked him with electricity. He said:
The world was spinning around, and I fainted. They hit me with batons. I kept fainting and hallucinating. He kept asking me about the hostages, and moving Hamas hostages, and where I was on October 7. With every question I was electro-shocked to wake me up. He told me confess and we will stop torturing you.
Khalili said he was given electric shocks every second day in addition to being suspended in stress positions and having cold water thrown on him.
Khalili said that at three-day intervals, he was taken from the “warehouse” for interrogation. Before each interrogation, a soldier administered an unknown drug to him in pill form. “The pill made me feel weird, it was the first time I have felt like this, as if my inner mind was speaking what was in my heart, not me. I felt like I’m flying. I saw hallucinations.” An Israeli official whom Khalili said spoke fluent, unaccented Arabic interrogated him, focusing on the hostages taken to Gaza. The official “told me how many children I have, all their names, my address,” Khalili said, and threatened they would be killed if he did not confess.
Despite his broken ribs, Khalili said he received no medical treatment at Sde Teiman. Another detainee “had his leg amputated,” apparently as a result of prolonged shackling and exposure to cold. He said he saw a detainee in the “warehouse” experience what he believes was cardiac arrest; a soldier brought in an Israeli medical worker who confirmed the detainee was dead. Israeli forces brought the dead body of another detainee into the warehouse, Khalili said. Prayer was prohibited.
After 20 days, Israeli forces transferred Khalili, alone, in a wheelchair and unable to stand, from Sde Teiman to a detention facility he called “al-Naqab” prison. He was cuffed and blindfolded, and said soldiers threatened him with rape while he was being transported. Upon arrival at al-Naqab, officials at the facility “took my fingerprints and gave me a number” to identify him. After a few days, he was given clothes. Another detainee, tasked to act as a translator and go-between by Israeli guards, was allowed to bring him food. He was questioned three more times but not physically tortured.
The other detainees at al-Naqab were also sick and wounded, and a man who was visibly “bleeding from his bottom” was brought in and placed next to Khalili. The man told Khalili that before he was placed in detention, “three soldiers took turns raping him with an M16 [assault rifle]. No one else knew, but he told me as a paramedic. He was terrified. His mental health was awful, he started talking to himself.” […]

France:
Chief rabbi of France Haim Korsia justified Israeli actions in Gaza during a French television interview and urged Israel to “finish the job”.
Broadcast on BFM TV, Korsia expressed his support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing a potential arrest warrant at the International Criminal Court on charges of war crimes in Gaza.
Korsia described the violence in Gaza as “acts of war” and defended Israel’s actions, saying that they were necessary to “protect its nationals”. He said that Israel’s military response was justified in the context of defending its citizens against Hamas, which he said is responsible for the ongoing conflict.
When the journalist giving the interview pressed Korsia about the civilian casualties in Gaza, he responded: “It’s an act of war that no country in the world would conduct like Israel is doing, and I have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of in how Israel is conducting the fighting.”
When asked if he was uncomfortable with Netanyahu’s policy in Gaza, the rabbi replied: “I’m never uncomfortable with a policy that consists of defending one’s citizens.”
The tense exchange continued when the rabbi was asked if he condemned the massacres in Gaza as he did the Israeli deaths on 7 October, to which he responded: “They are not of the same order.”
Since 7 October when the war broke out, Israel has killed over 40,000 people, with more than 93,000 wounded and an estimated 10,000 missing, likely dead and buried under rubble. Health officials report that over 50 percent of the victims are children and women.
The Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October led to the deaths of 1,170 people and over 200 taken back to Gaza as captives.
Aymeric Caron, a deputy in the French parliament, condemned Korsia’s comments, calling them a justification for “genocide in Gaza”.
Pro-Palestinian activism criminalised
Earlier this year French police summoned the leading left-wing MP Mathilde Panot for an investigation into an alleged “apology for terrorism”, in connection with her criticism of Israel’s war on Gaza.
“We will not be silent. No summons, no intimidation of any kind will prevent us from protesting against the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people,” Panot said in a press release.
Panot is the leader of the largest left-wing parliamentary group in the French parliament, France Unbowed (La France Insoumise/LFI), which has been outspoken in condemning the war on Gaza since 7 October.
Panot denounced the investigation as unprecedented.
“It is the first time in the history of the French Republic that the head of an opposition group in parliament is summoned for such a serious reason on the basis of fallacious accusations,” she said.
“The Macronist regime has crossed all imaginable lines,” she added, referring to the government of President Emmanuel Macron.
French authorities in April cancelled two conferences by LFI politician Jean-Luc Melenchon in Lille, while Rima Hassan, a party member, was summoned to police on charges of “apology for terrorism”.
The left-wing For Reunion (Pour La Reunion/PLR) party criticised the measures against Panot as “a worrying authoritarian drift”.
“The PLR is deeply concerned about the justice system being instrumentalised to silence political opponents who denounce the ongoing genocide on Palestinian territory,” the party said in a statement on Wednesday.

A questionable WHO Polio vaccination:
LONDON (AP) — The baby in Gaza who was recently paralyzed by polio was infected with a mutated strain of the virus that vaccinated people shed in their waste, according to scientists who say the case is the result of “an unqualified failure” of public health policy.
The infection, which marked the first detection of polio in the war-torn Palestinian territory in more than 25 years, paralyzed the lower part of one leg in the unvaccinated 10-month-old child. The baby boy was one of hundreds of thousands of children who missed vaccinations because of the fighting between Israel and Hamas.[!]
[…]
The polio strain in question evolved from a weakened virus that was originally part of an oral vaccine credited with preventing millions of children worldwide from being paralyzed. But that virus was removed from the vaccine in 2016 in hopes of preventing vaccine-derived outbreaks.
