The Ukraine-Russia-USA Conflict, Part 6: On War Propaganda and False Flag Attacks in Ukraine
Part 6 treats war propaganda via a respective introduction by George Orwell as well as Western-backed false flag operations in Ukraine which have probably already happened in Mariupol or which may very well still happen in the near future (see part 8). I also address the parallels to the Western-backed false flag operations in Syria. [see part 1 for sections 1 & 2; part 2 for sections 3 & 4; part 3 for section 5; part 4 for section 6; part 5 for section 7]
8.1 An Introduction to War Propaganda via George Orwell
George Orwell, the author of the famous dystopian novel 1984, participated in the Spanish Civil War (1936–39) where he was fighting Franco fascists. His respective experiences and thoughts were published in 1943 as the multi-part essay “Looking Back on the Spanish War.” In part 4, he writes the following about propaganda in general and about war propaganda and its even more distorting effects on truth in particular:
Early in life I have noticed that no event is ever correctly reported in a newspaper, but in Spain, for the first time, I saw newspaper reports which did not bear any relation to the facts, not even the relationship which is implied in an ordinary lie. I saw great battles reported where there had been no fighting, and complete silence where hundreds of men had been killed. I saw troops who had fought bravely denounced as cowards and traitors, and others who had never seen a shot fired hailed as the heroes of imaginary victories; and I saw newspapers in London retailing these lies and eager intellectuals building emotional superstructures over events that had never happened. I saw, in fact, history being written not in terms of what happened but of what ought to have happened according to various ‘party lines’.
[…]
The implied objective of this line of thought is a nightmare world in which the Leader, or some ruling clique, controls not only the future but the past. If the Leader says of such and such an event, ‘It never happened’ — well, it never happened. If he says that two and two are five — well, two and two are five. This prospect frightens me much more than bombs — and after our experiences of the last few years that is not a frivolous statement. (Orwell 1943, ch. 4)
The exact same thing applies to party- or state-affiliated reporting about war action in the Ukraine-Russia-USA conflict in 2022. So while all sides are using war propaganda, note how Orwell explains that propaganda on the side of far right fascists (such as those in Ukraine) is the worst, and for obvious reasons:
[A]s for the Fascists and their backers, how could they come even as near to the truth as that? How could they possibly mention their real aims? Their version of the war was pure fantasy, and in the circumstances it could not have been otherwise.
The only propaganda line open to the Nazis and Fascists was to represent themselves as Christian patriots saving Spain from a Russian dictatorship. This involved pretending that life in Government Spain was just one long massacre (vide the Catholic Herald or the Daily Mail — but these were child’s play compared with the Continental Fascist press), and it involved immensely exaggerating the scale of Russian intervention. Out of the huge pyramid of lies which the Catholic and reactionary press all over the world built up, let me take just one point — the presence in Spain of a Russian army. Devout Franco partisans all believed in this; estimates of its strength went as high as half a million. Now, there was no Russian army in Spain. There may have been a handful of airmen and other technicians, a few hundred at the most, but an army there was not. Some thousands of foreigners who fought in Spain, not to mention millions of Spaniards, were witnesses of this. Well, their testimony made no impression at all upon the Franco propagandists, not one of whom had set foot in Government Spain. Simultaneously these people refused utterly to admit the fact of German or Italian intervention at the same time as the Germany and Italian press were openly boasting about the exploits of their’ legionaries’. I have chosen to mention only one point, but in fact the whole of Fascist propaganda about the war was on this level. (Orwell 1943, ch. 4)
Just like Spanish fascists, Ukrainian fascists and neonazis who have become part of the official Ukrainian military or state also “represent” themselves as if they are just good “(Christian) patriots” who want to “save” Ukraine from a “Russian dictatorship” — and never mind the ethnocentric dictatorship that they would erect and the imprisonment, torture, ethnic cleansing and genocide of the undesirables that they would and have already partially implemented. To once again (see part 3, section 5.2b) quote their lame and transparent excuses as reported in this 2014 Guardian article:
Dmitry claimed not to be a Nazi, but waxed lyrical about Adolf Hitler as a military leader, and believes the Holocaust never happened.
[…]
[E]ven those who laughed off the idea that they are neo-Nazis did not give the most convincing denials.
“Of course not, it’s all made up, there are just a lot of people who are interested in Nordic mythology,” said one fighter when asked if there were neo-Nazis in the battalion. When asked what his own political views were, however, he said “national socialist”. As for the swastika tattoos on at least one man seen at the Azov base, “the swastika has nothing to do with the Nazis, it was an ancient sun symbol,” he claimed.
And since the Ukraine-Russia conflict in which the USA abuses Ukraine to fight its proxy war against Russia — something which was even admitted by the Johns Hopkins professor Eliot A. Cohen in the imperialist publication The Atlantic —
it is also Ukrainian propaganda that is propped up and manufactured with massive aid by the US empire:
The campaign includes language guides, key messages, and hundreds of propaganda posters, some of which contain fascist imagery and even praise Neo-Nazi leaders.
Behind Ukraine’s public relations effort is an army of foreign political strategists, Washington DC lobbyists, and a network of intelligence-linked media outlets.
Ukraine’s propaganda strategy earned it praise from a NATO commander who told the Washington Post, “They are really excellent in stratcom — media, info ops, and also psy-ops.” The Post ultimately conceded that “Western officials say that while they cannot independently verify much of the information that Kyiv puts out about the evolving battlefield situation, including casualty figures for both sides, it nonetheless represents highly effective stratcom.”
Key to the propaganda effort is an international legion of public relations firms working directly with Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to wage information warfare.
Some of the more notable of these Western and Ukrainian war propaganda productions are the following three, with other and bigger ones (see part 8) looming in the future:
One should also expect similar but not nearly as false propaganda productions by the Russians, but as a Westerner I am much more concerned about how we are being lied to by Western leaders and allies. Hence the focus on Western-Ukrainian (war) propaganda.
8.1.1 The Ukrainian Propaganda Myth of the “Ghost of Kyiv”
Note how the Western propaganda outlet BBC avoids calling them a propaganda “lie” and how they instead use the positively connotated term of “legend”:
This joke was turned into a bit of a meme:
8.1.2 Four Complementary Constants of War Propaganda
As one can already partially tell by the above “Ghost of Kyiv” example, such war propaganda revolves around four complementary constants of narration about the past, the present and the future:
- The inflation or pure invention of one’s own side’s war successes
- The deflation or outright denial of one’s own side’s war failures
and conversely and complementarily
3. The inflation or pure invention of the other side’s war failures
4. The deflation or outright denial of the other side’s war successes
Relatedly, you can also find these narratives about troop morality, the economic or financial state of affairs or the health and (in)sanity of the leadership (e.g. the Russian narrative that Zelenskiy is doing lots of cocaine).
And there is a motivational constant behind these four 1%-related constants of war propaganda, which is to manipulate others — typically the own 99% — to go to war or to keep fighting against a supposedly easily defeatable and allegedly already losing enemy:
8.1.3 The Ukrainian Propaganda Myth of the “Snake Island 13"
With those constants and the motivation behind them in hand, let us take a closer look at the example of the Snake Island Western-Ukrainian propaganda co-production. According to the official Western Ukrainian story, now also refuted, 13 Ukrainian soldiers told the crew of the Russian warship Vasily Bykov to go screw themselves upon which they supposedly died a hero’s death, received “Heros of Ukraine” awards, and then the Russian ship was ultimately supposed to have been heavily damaged or sunk by Ukraine in another heroic act of resistance. The BBC reported the first part as follows on February 25:
Ukraine has honoured 13 soldiers who were killed defending a tiny island after reportedly swearing at a Russian ship that ordered them to surrender.
In unverified audio clips, the borders guards defending Zmiinyi Island in the Black Sea are told to “lay down your weapons” or “be bombed”.
“Russian warship, go to hell,” they respond.
Ukraine says they were then killed by air and sea strikes. Russia denies the account, saying they all surrendered.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded each of the guards the posthumous title of “Hero of Ukraine”.
“On our Zmiinyi Island, defending it to the last, all the border guards died heroically,” Mr Zelensky said.
In the audio recordings, shared by a Ukrainian government official, the soldiers can be heard exchanging barbed comments with the Russian vessel.
“This is a Russian warship,” one voice says in the clip. “I propose you lay down your weapons and surrender to avoid bloodshed and unnecessary victims. Otherwise you will be bombed”
According to the audio, the Ukrainian soldiers can then be heard speaking amongst themselves, agreeing “this is it”, before their final “go to hell”.
According to Ukrainian officials, those were the last words heard from the island before Russia began strikes and Kyiv lost contact with the island.
The official Russian account of the incident differs dramatically. Moscow said the 82 Ukrainian soldiers on the island surrendered it to them voluntarily and made no mention of carrying out strikes or inflicting casualties.
It turns out that, just as noted by Orwell in the 1940s about war propaganda and in particular fascist propaganda, the Ukrainian story is invented or a lie and the Russian story was true. As confirmed by Ukraine itself later on, the Ukrainian soldiers were captured and are alive and well
…and the Russian ship appears to be unharmed:
Even Wikipedia reports that the Ukrainian propaganda version is false, together with respective admissions by official Ukraine — with the lasting problem/propagandistic success being that it is the initially reported false propaganda that will stick in most people’s minds, also due to Western MSM failing to retract or correct the initially reported propaganda:
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine later announced that the guards might instead have been captured,[25] based on the Russian reports that they were being held as prisoners of war.[26] On 27 February it issued a statement saying that they believed “that all Ukrainian defenders of Zmiiniy Island may be alive”.[23] On 28 February 2022, the Ukrainian Navy posted on its Facebook page that all the border guards of the island were alive and detained by the Russian Navy.[27][28]
8.1.4 Other Higher and Lower End Western-Ukrainian Propaganda Productions
So this is what a higher-end Western-Ukrainian war propaganda co-production that got busted looks like. For a respective Hollywood movie, I highly recommend the 1997 Robert DeNiro and Dustin Hoffman featuring satire/unintentional documentary movie Wag the Dog which provides interesting insights into how the US empire produces its war propaganda:
And it is not just fiction but fact that US war propaganda is heavily coordinated with Hollywood in order to maintain their across-the-board “big lie” (see part 11, section 13.4.1, on that “manipulative means” of propaganda that comes straight out of the Nazi playbook):
For lower end propaganda productions, see the following examples:
8.1.5 Western-Ukrainian War Propaganda about the Mariupol/Azovstal and Sverodonetsk Losses
In terms of facts and in the second half of May 2022, the Western-backed Ukrainian forces suffered clear losses in the neonazi Azov battalion stronghold Mariupol as well as in the Azovstal steelplant where the last pockets of mainly Azov resistance were holed up. Initially, the Western-Ukrainian propagandists still spouted their constants of war propaganda:
But from May 18 to 21, videos and reports kept coming in about ‘successful evacuations’ — i.e. surrenders — of the Ukrainian army:
In increasingly ludicrous attempts, Western and Ukrainian manufacturers still tried to maintain appearances, thereby earning them comparisons to North Korean state propaganda:
But at some point, Western propagandists could not maintain their Orwellian propaganda anymore despite wanting to…
…and slowly began to admit the facts on the ground:
In a new article titled “Ukrainian volunteer fighters in the east feel abandoned,” WaPo reports that contrary to the triumphant narratives the western world is being spoon fed, many troops in eastern Ukraine have been surviving on one potato per day and deserting their posts because they feel their leaders have turned their backs on them and they’re being sent to certain death.
“Stuck in their trenches, the Ukrainian volunteers lived off a potato per day as Russian forces pounded them with artillery and Grad rockets on a key eastern front line. Outnumbered, untrained and clutching only light weapons, the men prayed for the barrage to end,” The Washington Post reports, citing multiple named sources.
“Ukrainian leaders have projected and nurtured a public image of military invulnerability — of their volunteer and professional forces triumphantly standing up to the Russian onslaught,” the article reads. “But the experience of Lapko and his group of volunteers offers a rare and more realistic portrait of the conflict and Ukraine’s struggle to halt the Russian advance in parts of Donbas. Ukraine, like Russia, has provided scant information about deaths, injuries or losses of military equipment. But after three months of war, this company of 120 men is down to 54 because of deaths, injuries and desertions.”
WaPo reports that volunteer troops in that part of the country “quickly found themselves in the crosshairs of war, feeling abandoned by their military superiors and struggling to survive.”
“We are being sent to certain death,” said one volunteer. “We are not alone like this, we are many.”
And lo and behold, the war-happy Zelenskiy all of sudden discovers diplomacy after Ukrainian forces got heavily defeated in Mariupol or were refusing to carry out orders to due the pointlessness of them and due to not wanting to end up as cannon fodder:
Note that Ukrainian parasitic elites currently largely still adhere to the constants of war propaganda also in terms of “The inflation or pure invention of one’s own side’s future war successes” as well as in terms of “The inflation or pure invention of the other side’s future war failures” with regard to the retaking of the ethnically predominantly Russian former south and east of Ukraine:
But that’s delusional and dangerous. The truth is that Ukraine simply fucked up bigtime — mainly by not learning their lessons from history and by going into bed with the devil (the USA) — and that there is a very heavy price to pay for those massive fuckups in the form of territorial losses or de facto bankruptcy, among many other things.
These Western-Ukrainian delusions sometimes also continue even after the Ukrainian loss at and retreat from Sverodonetsk — Hitler and Nazi German propaganda would have talked about “Frontbegradigungen” (i.e. making the war front straighter) after beginning to lose against the USSR forces:
Replies to Carroll:
Another report listed up to 100 killed Ukrainians per day:
It is to be hoped that the Ukrainian leadership does not unnecessarily sacrifice too many Ukrainian women on top of that:
And yet, there are still some delusional Westerners and ‘journalists’/stenographers for the US empire who take those military losses and retreats and insanely interpret that evidence in the opposite direction:
But at some point and in the end, you simply cannot coat over such losses with propaganda no matter how hard you try and no matter how many Ukrainians that speak up about that get arrested by the US- and Kolomoyskiy-backed Ukrainian neonazi regime and their puppet Zelenskiy (see parts 9 and 10 for those connections):
As if to confirm Blumenthal’s words, the Zelenskiy’s later posed for Vogue:
Largely though, Western propaganda which is informed by Western intelligence and disinformation services still continues. From the highly disreputable Murdoch press and after Ukrainian forces were defeated in Mariupol (behold the high quotes to likes ratio of 825 to 395 which indicates a highly negative reception):
Similar war propagandistic garbage could also be found in Newsweek on June 2:
As noted by a Tweeter who provided some evidence, the “Putin is sick”-theme goes back to 2008 — the year in which he acted against the USA’s NATO expansion plans in Georgia (see part 1, section 2):
The absurd Western propaganda narrative here is the following: ‘To resist and push back the advances of the US empire (something which Putin is very successful at), you must be very sick.’
You may also wish to take note of the following unintentionally amusing MSM article from June 2, 2022, in which a) the authors profusely apologize for not towing the Western-Ukrainian propaganda line about Ukraine gloriously defeating Russia and in which b) some editor from the publication preceded the article by the notice that “The views expressed by contributors are their own and not the view of The Hill” to distance themselves from this “unpalatable” Orwellian throughtcrime and wrongthink about the Ukraine-Russia-USA conflict. They might as well have written “Sorry for doing actual journalism”:
In mid-June, a journalist on German television confirms that Russia has already won the war:
The above instances all highlight the “Four Complementary Constants of War Propaganda” of inflating or deflating war successes and failures and furthermore show how deeply the human mind is affected and determined by wishful thinking. At the end of the day though, a more realistic assessment in light of Ukrainian losses and retreats at Mariupol and Sverodonetsk would appear to be that Ukraine is losing and will continue to lose this military conflict and this will hopefully stop before the US empire has fought Russia to the last Ukrainian.
8.2 An Introduction to False Flag Attacks or Operations
So truth is generally the first victim of war. A particularly insidious and disgusting means of lying and undermining truth in war are so-called and routinely used “false flag attacks/operations” where a) perpetratorship of an actual or invented crime or gross misdeed is intentionally and falsely attributed to another faction to b) make that faction look bad in the eye of the public and to c) thereby have an excuse for military or some other action against them.
One famous historic example for such a false flag operation is Nazi Germany’s “Gleiwitz incident” which was used as an excuse to attack Poland:
The Gleiwitz incident in 1939 involved Reinhard Heydrich fabricating evidence of a Polish attack against Germany to mobilize German public opinion for war and to justify the war with Poland. Alfred Naujocks was a key organiser of the operation under orders from Heydrich. It led to the deaths of Nazi concentration camp victims who were dressed as German soldiers and then shot by the Gestapo to make it seem that they had been shot by Polish soldiers. This, along with other false flag operations in Operation Himmler, would be used to mobilize support from the German population for the start of World War II in Europe.
The operation failed to convince international public opinion of the German claims, and both Britain and France — Poland’s allies — declared war two days after Germany invaded Poland.
Another such example is the Soviet Union’s Shelling of Mainila which was used as an excuse to wage their Winter War against Finland:
On 26 November 1939, the Soviet army shelled Mainila, a Russian village near the Finnish border. Soviet authorities blamed Finland for the attack and used the incident as a pretext to invade Finland, starting the Winter War, four days later
It is also the USA and some of their current allies which have been using false flag operations for the longest time (some would argue that even the sinking of the USS Maine in 1898 at the Cuban coast and before the outbreak of the US-Spanish war was one such event):
Operation TPAJAX
Main article: 1953 Iranian coup d’état
On 4 April 1953, the CIA was ordered to undermine the government of Iran over a four-month period, as a precursor to overthrowing Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh.[31] One tactic used to undermine Mosaddegh was to carry out false flag attacks “on mosques and key public figures”, to be blamed on Iranian communists loyal to the government.[31]
The CIA operation was code-named TPAJAX. The tactic of a “directed campaign of bombings by Iranians posing as members of the Communist party”,[32] involved the bombing of “at least one” well known Muslim’s house by CIA agents posing as Communists.[32] The CIA determined that the tactic of false flag attacks added to the “positive outcome” of TPAJAX.[31]
However, as “the C.I.A. burned nearly all of its files on its role in the 1953 coup in Iran,” the true extent of the tactic has been difficult for historians to discern.[33]
The Lavon affair
Main article: Lavon Affair
In the summer of 1954, a group of Egyptian Jews recruited by Israeli army intelligence were caught with plans to bomb American, British, and Egyptian civil targets in Egypt. The bombings were to be blamed on the Muslim Brotherhood, Egyptian Communists, “unspecified malcontents” or “local nationalists” with the aim of creating a climate of sufficient violence and instability to induce the British government to refrain from evacuating its troops occupying Egypt’s Suez Canal zone, a move that would embolden Egyptian President Nasser against Israel. But the plot was exposed before launch and Egyptian authorities were able to tail an operative to his target, arrest him and later search his apartment where the entire plan including the names of other agents and explosive materials were held. The exposé caused a scandal in Israel with Israeli officials blaming one another for the operation and the Israeli defense minister, Pinhas Lavon resigning under pressure.[34][35][36]
One later and more well-known false flag operations were the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin incident which the USA used a made up attack on their ships as an excuse to intensify their war of aggression against Vietnam:
After decades of public skepticism and government secrecy, the truth finally came out: In the early 2000s, nearly 200 documents were declassified and released by the National Security Agency (NSA).
They showed that there was no attack on August 4. U.S. officials had distorted the truth about the Gulf of Tonkin incident for their own gains — and perhaps for Johnson’s own political prospects.
Another such successful false flag operation was the Nayirah baby incubator lie during which a 15 year old girl named Nayirah — she later turned out to be the daughter of Kuwaiti ambassador to the USA Saud Al-Sabah — gave completely false testimony in front of the United States Congressional Human Rights Caucus on October 10, 1990, about Iraqi soldiers allegedly killing Kuwaiti babies (cui bono also applies here).
Note that the then president George H. W. Bush was CIA director from Jan. 1976 to Jan. 1977, that the CIA is known for fabricating such lies and disinformation and that there is consequently a good chance that Bush senior not only knew about but even helped set up this US-Kuwaiti war propaganda co-production.
NATO’s Operation Gladio during which false flag operations were likewise conducted is another obvious example for the West and especially the USA routinely using far right extremists to conduct false flag attacks:
8.3 They Have Every Reason To Lie About the War
So when you hear stories about alleged Russian war crimes in Ukraine, beware: It could be just yet another Western and Orwellian false flag operation such as the abovementioned:
To quote from the great Caitlyn Johnstone’s article “The US And Ukraine Have Every Reason To Lie About The War”
To be clear, it is not conjecture that the US and its proxies make use of atrocity propaganda. The infamous Nayirah testimony for example helped manufacture consent for the Gulf War when a 15 year-old girl who turned out to be a coached plant falsely told the US Congressional Human Rights Caucus that she’d witnessed Iraqi soldiers taking babies out of incubators in Kuwait and leaving them on the floor to die.
Atrocity propaganda has been in use for as long as war and media have coexisted, and it would be incredibly naive to believe it won’t continue to be. Especially by power structures with a known history of doing so.
For this reason it is necessary to take everything claimed about what happens in Ukraine with a planet-sized grain of salt, whether it’s by Russia, Ukraine, or the US and its allies. Be very skeptical of anything you hear about chemical attacks or any other narrative that can be used to get military firepower moving in a way that it otherwise would not. All parties involved in this conflict have every reason in the world to lie about such things.
The above also applies to chemical attacks which might still occur in the future, which Russia has little reason to implement, but which Ukrainians and their Western allies have good reason to implement or fake (cui bono again). Also expect more Western censorship if such things occur:
We could soon see a chemical weapons incident occur in Ukraine, after which Silicon Valley platforms ban all accounts who express skepticism of the official western narrative about what happened.
The US-centralized empire is censoring and propagandizing as though it is in a hot war with Russia currently. Officially the US and its allies are not at war, but the imperial narrative management machine is behaving as though we are.
8.4 Clear Parallels To Chemical False Flag Attacks in Syria (2013–2018)
It is furthermore obvious that there are clear parallels to likely chemical false flag attacks in Syria that were all too eagerly and quickly pinned on Assad by Western propagandists (see here for my earlier articles on the Khan Sheykhun/Sheikhoun 2017 incidents and on the Douma 2018 incidents). In all these cases, including in Ukraine, they same “red line” “playbook” or script is used by the West, and our alarm bells should be ringing as a consequence:
Jimmy Dore also reported on that, among others:
To give a brief rundown of that false flag operation playbook and its red line element by yet another independent journalist and analyst:
And the evidence keeps mounting up that a Syria-style prohibited weapons false flag attack could very well be in the making in Ukraine:
To quote from the above Grayzone article:
Shadowy UK intel figure Hamish de Bretton-Gordon was at the forefront of chemical weapons deceptions in Syria. Now in Ukraine, he’s up to his old tricks again.
With Washington and its NATO allies forced to watch from the sidelines as Russia’s military advances across Eastern Ukraine and encircles Kiev, US and British officials have resorted to a troubling tactic that could trigger a massive escalation. Following similar claims by his Secretary of State and ambassador the United Nations, US President Joseph Biden has declared that Russia will pay a “severe price” if it uses chemical weapons in Ukraine.
The warnings emanating from the Biden administration contain chilling echoes of those issued by the administration of President Barack Obama throughout the US-led dirty war on Syria.
Almost as soon as Obama implemented his ill-fated “red line” policy vowing an American military response if the Syrian army attacked the Western-backed opposition with chemical weapons, Al Qaeda-aligned opposition factions came forth with claims of mass casualty sarin and chlorine bombings of civilians. The result was a series of US-UK missile strikes on Damascus and a prolonged crisis that nearly triggered the kind of disastrous regime change war that had destabilized Iraq and Libya.
In each major chemical weapons event, signs of staging and deception by the armed Syrian opposition were present. As a former US ambassador in the Middle East told journalist Charles Glass, “The ‘red line’ was an open invitation to a false-flag operation.”
Elements of deception were especially clear in the April 7, 2018 incident in the city of Douma, when an anti-government militia on the brink of defeat claimed civilians had been massacred in a chlorine attack by the Syrian army.
Veteran inspectors from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) found no evidence that the Syrian army had carried out any such attack, however, suggesting the entire incident had been staged to trigger Western intervention. Their report was subsequently censored by organization management, and the inspectors were subjected to a campaign of smears and intimidation.
To get a general idea of the type of nutcases, psychopaths and sociopaths that work in US and British intelligence and ‘national’ security — i.e. the security of the parasitic 1% of a nation from the 99% — I recommend watching this 3-minute video in which journalist John Pilger interviews the former CIA Latin America chief Duane Clarridge (1981–87) who plays down the crimes of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet and who subordinates everything, including ethics and morals, to US ‘national’ security:
So if amoral and unethical ‘national’ security/NatSec sickos and culture of violence fossils such as the above think that committing a false flag attack is in the interest of the parasitic 1% of the USA or the Ukraine, then you can bet your money on it that they will have little to no hesitations about implementing such a false flag operation.
Conclusion
As such, be very careful about reports of alleged atrocies by Russians, Syrians or whoever happens to be the enemies of the US empire, because these reports could very well be (based on) simply yet another false flag operation by the West in its grand quest for ‘freedom’ and ‘democracy.’ Of course, similar considerations apply to Russia, but to a lesser extent in my opinion since there is not anyone who lies as much and is as riddled by Orwellian double standards as the West these days.
Note that even US ‘defense’ officials recently confirmed that they have no evidence that Russia is up to anything in this regard:
No Evidence of Chemicals
The Pentagon’s mettle will be tested if there is a chemical weapons attack in Ukraine. Biden has said Russia would pay a “severe price” but who the perpetrator would be might be murky. Whoever might be behind such an attack, the calls for direct military action are sure to increase in the U.S. media, the Congress and perhaps internally at the State Dept.
The second mainstream article directly undermines Biden’s dramatic warning. Reuters reported: “The United States has not yet seen any concrete indications of an imminent Russian chemical or biological weapons attack in Ukraine but is closely monitoring streams of intelligence for them, a senior U.S. defense official said.”
It quoted the Pentagon official as saying, “There’s no indication that there’s something imminent in that regard right now.”
Claims of alleged Russian chemical attacks from, of all people, the neonazi Azov Battalion(!) and at a time when they are probably getting routed by the Russians in their stronghold Mariupol(!) should therefore indeed be “treated with [a high dose of] skepticism”
…if not outright ridicule:
